Aparicio Saravia

Aparicio Saravia da Rosa ( born August 16, 1856 in Pablo Paez near Santa Clara de Olimar in the department of Cerro Largo, Uruguay, † September 10, 1904 in Carovi, Brazil) was an Uruguayan military and politicians.

Aparicio Saravia was the fourth of thirteen children of the Brazilian Francisco Saraiva and Propicia Da Rosa born. At the age of 14, he participated in the 1870 to 1872 Revolución de las Lanza directed against the government of Lorenzo Batlle. He was a member of the Partido Nacional and the Uruguayan Civil War 1903/ 04 revolutionary leader ( caudillo ) of the Blancos against the Colorado government. In addition, he was engaged with his brother Gumercindo Saravia in the riograndensischen revolutionary movement of 1893. Saravia died on September 10, 1904 at 13.35 clock on a Brazilian Estancia from the effects of a right to left passing through his body, belly shot, which he had suffered at the battle of Masoller on 1 September 1904. His great- great-grandson Villanueva Saravia (1964-1998) was also active as a politician.
