Apidae

A honey bee on a flower Marjoram

The Real bees ( Apidae ) are a family within the superfamily Apoidea in the order of Hymenoptera ( Hymenoptera).

In older plants, the family Apidae is often limited to the basket collectors and all other groups are cleaved as a family Anthophoridae. However, because of the paraphyletic status of Anthophoridae this view is considered to be obsolete. After the length of their Glossae can be distinguished generally two groups, the short - and long- tongue bees.
