Apimondia

APIMONDIA is the short name of the International Federation of Beekeepers' Associations. This world organization promotes scientific, ecological, social and economic beekeeping and beekeeping in all countries. It also supports the cooperation of beekeepers associations, interested by scientific institutions and science people worldwide. The association publishes the journal Apiacta. Since 1897, the beekeepers APIMONDIA congresses organized in various countries. The last World Congresses have 2009 in Montpellier (France ), 2011 in Buenos Aires ( Argentina) and 2013 in Kiev (Ukraine ) instead. The next Apimondia Congress will be held in 2015 in Daejeon (South Korea).

Honorary members from Germany were the President of the German Beekeepers' Association Fridolin Gnädinger and Erich slate stone, beekeeping consultant and master beekeeper Karl Pfefferle and beescientists Ludwig Armbruster. On 29 April 2007, the Nazi victims Ludwig Armbruster in Bronnbach (Baden) was honored by President Asger Jorgensen.
