Apollo Group

Apollo Group, Inc. is an American company based in Phoenix, which has private institutions of Higher Education and operates. He is one of the largest private education company in the United States. The main target group are working adults, who make up about 80 % of the students. The company is listed since 1994 on the NASDAQ stock exchange and currently in stock market indices NASDAQ -100 and S & P 500 represented. The Group's revenue in 2008 amounted to about 3.1 billion U.S. dollars, net profit to 476.5 million U.S. dollars. The group employed about 14,500 people in 2008. Company founder and Executive Chairman of the Board is the billionaire John Glen Sperling, CEO Charles B. Edelstein (former manager at Credit Suisse, Consultant at PwC). Founded in 1973 by John G. Sperling Apollo Group owns and operates the University of Phoenix ( UOPX ) in Phoenix, the organization for the University of Phoenix belonging Axia College, Western International University ( WIU ) with five campuses in the state of Arizona and two in the abroad, the College for Financial Planning (CFP ) in Greenwood Village (Colorado), the Institute for Professional Development at over 50 locations in the U.S. and is headquartered in Phoenix, remote university group Insight schools, headquartered in Portland (Oregon ) and the Olympus high School in Phoenix.
