Apoprotein

As apo ( Gr. apo - from, proton - the first ) is defined as that portion of a protein which consists only of amino acids. If moreover there is the prosthetic group, one obtains a complete protein (Greek holos = whole; holoprotein ). Wherein a composite enzyme the apoprotein is identical to the apoenzyme.
