Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte

The Apostolic Vicariate of Nekemte (Latin apostolicus Vicariatus Nekemteensis ) is located in Ethiopia Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with its headquarters in Nekemte.

History

Pope Pius X founded the Apostolic Prefecture Südkaffa on January 28, 1913 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Galla. On September 8, 1913, she took the name Kaffa Apostolic Prefecture on.

Due to the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Aethiopia on March 25, 1937, lost part of its territory to the Apostolic Vicariate of Awasa and was charged with the Bull Quae christiano nomini Apostolic Vicariate Gimma.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quae Utilia received on 13 February 1940, the Apostolic Prefectures Hosanna and Endeber part of its territory.

On September 3, 1982, adopted the present name. On June 10, 1994, lost part of its territory to the Apostolic Prefecture of Jimma - Bonga.
