Apostolic Vicariate of Yurimaguas

The Apostolic Vicariate of Yurimaguas (Latin: apostolicus Vicariatus Yurimaguaënsis ) is located in the northeast of Peru's Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with its headquarters in Yurimaguas.

History

The Apostolic Vicariate of Yurimaguas, was established on 27 February 1921 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of San León del Amazonas, now the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos as Apostolic Prefecture of San Gabriel de la Dolorosa del Marañón. On June 3, 1936, the Apostolic San Gabriel de la Dolorosa del Marañón Prefecture was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate.

On November 10, 1960, the name of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Gabriel de la Dolorosa del Marañón was changed to Apostolic Vicariate of Yurimaguas.
