Apostolos Kaklamanis

Apostolos Kaklamanis (Greek Απόστολος Κακλαμάνης ) ( born September 7, 1936 in Lefkada) is a Greek politician.

Kaklamanis studied law. In 1961 he joined the Enosis Kendrou by Georgios Papandreou. After the end of military rule (1967 - 1974) he was one of the founding members of the social democratic PASOK

Kaklamanis was first elected in 1974 as deputy of PASOK in the Greek parliament and since then re-elected in all elections.

He held ministerial posts in several governments: The Cabinets of Andreas Papandreou, he belonged from 1981 to 1982 and again in 1988 as Minister of Labour, from 1982 to 1986 as Minister for National Education and Religious Affairs, 1985 as Minister of Research and Technology from 1986 to 1987 as Minister of Justice, 1987 to 1988 as Minister to the Prime Minister, from 1988 to 1989 as Minister of Health and Social Security to, the transitional government of Xenophon Zolotas as Minister of Labour.

22 October 1993 to 19 March 2004, he was President of the Parliament.
