Apparat (musician)

Apparatus (actually: Sascha Ring, * June 27, 1978 in Quedlinburg ) is a German techno and electronica musician.

Career

First, he played dancefloor -oriented techno, but later began to play more atmospheric music. He was more interested in sounds than beats. His current music is more of an Electro, Clicks & Cuts or IDM associate and is sometimes accompanied by traditional instruments.

Ring worked in 2003 and again in 2006 with Ellen Allien on two albums together and joined, among others, in 2004 John Peel on.

He was co-owner of the music label Shitkatapult 1999. Later, however, he ended the active participation in this label because he wanted to focus on his musical work more.

Together with Modeselektor he is the music group Moderate, which in 2009 released their first album.

In 2011 he signed a contract with the British label Mute Artists. His published in the same year album The Devil 's Walk debuted at number 54 on the German album charts. 2013 appeared with War And Peace a soundtrack to Sebastian Hartmann's eponymous theater production of Tolstoy 's novel for the Ruhr Festival in Recklinghausen in 2012.
