Apple Remote Desktop (ARD ) is a software from Apple to manage remote computer with the operating system Mac OS X via computer networks across.

ARD supports automation and inventory multiple computers at the same time, as well as software distribution and logging of user behavior.

In contrast to the Secure Shell of Mac OS X ARD has a graphical user interface. The VNC from Mac OS X is built into ARD and supplemented in its version 3 about the possibility to deny remote users the insight. Using ARD can be controlled systems, all VNC -enabled computer (Virtual Network Computing), including Windows, Linux and UNIX.

The software is licensed per administrator, either for ten computer or for an unlimited number. It is based on SQLite.
