Apple Springs is an inhabited unincorporated community in Trinity County in the U.S. state of Texas with a population of 185. The place is also known as May Apple Springs.

History

Carlisle is located 24 km north-east of Groveton in northeastern Trinity County. The community was founded during the Civil War. It was named after the Malapfel of lush grew on the banks of the nearby brook. When the post office was opened in 1884, we shortened the name to Apple Springs.

Over time, the site was moved twice:

  • When the railway line from Groveton had been built by Vair, the place moved a step closer to the railroad.
  • When the railway line was shut down in 1931, the site was moved to the two years before built State Highway 95.

Until the 1960s the city grew steadily. In 1965, he reached his highest population of 285 After a decline in the 1990s, the population increased again to 185 (as of 2000).
