Apple Valley is a city in Dakota County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It lies about 25 kilometers south of Saint Paul and has around 45,000 inhabitants.

Geography

Apple Valley is located in the south of the metropolitan area of ​​the Twin Cities. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of ​​the city is 45.9 square miles, of which 1.0 square miles of water.

History

The area of ​​today's Apple Valley was settled in the 1850s by European immigrants. On April 6, 1858, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners, the Union Township. As in 1858, the Commission met again and the new boundaries set, the new Lebanon Township was established. On 11 May 1858, the first town meeting was held. 1881 lived in the township of 252 inhabitants.
