AppleTalk Echo Protocol ( AEP) is a term used in computer science.

The AppleTalk Echo Protocol, or shortly AEP, is a protocol for testing for components in an AppleTalk network, similar to ping in IP networks.

It is defined in RFC 1742.

The protocol is a transport layer.
