Apsheronsk narrow-gauge railway

The Forest Railway Apscheronsk (Russian Апшеронская узкоколейная железная дорога ) is a forest railway in Russia's Krasnodar region.

History

The first section of the narrow -gauge railway was opened in 1927. From the earlier 127 km long forest railway network with a track width of 750 mm today is still a remaining distance of 37 km found. Meanwhile, the route will be operated only freight services, the public passenger service between Tschernigowskoje and Otdaljonny. The track is owned by ZAO « PDK Apscheronsk » (Russian ЗАО « ПДК Апшеронск "), which includes the sawmill in Apscheronsk. The Forest Railway Apscheronsk is the only narrow gauge railway in the Russian Caucasus.
