Apulanta

Apulanta is a Finnish rock band whose name means " fertilizer " means in Finnish.

History

The band was founded by Antti and Toni Wirtanen Lautala in Heinola in 1991. In the same year came Simo " Sipe " Santapukki to the band and in 1992 bassist Amanda " Mandy " Gaynor, an American exchange student. It was replaced by Tuukka Temonen 1993. A year later Lautala Antti left the band. By 2004 Apulanta played in this lineup. Bassist Tuukka Temonen rose from 2004 to devote himself increasingly solo projects. In 2005, Sami Lehtinen bass. Initially played Apulanta Punk, but nowadays the style of the band is rocking.

For almost ten years they reach top positions in the Finnish charts and are considered some of the most successful Finnish rock bands, however, are little known outside their home country. Apulanta has a total of ten studio albums and numerous EPs and singles released since 1994, of which almost all were No. 1 on the Finnish charts. Last reached the end of 2006 their song Koneeseen kadonnut this place and held it for six weeks. Overall, they sold over 500,000 albums.

The single Teit meistä kauniin is at the leading edge of the all-time best list of the Finnish single charts. A total of five singles are represented Apulanta in the top 25 of this list.
