Arab Liberation Army

The Arab Liberation Army ( Arabic language: جيش الإنقاذ / Jaisch al - Inqadh / Alternative Translation: Army of Salvation ) was established by the Arab League paramilitary organization in Palestine war under the Fawzi al - Qawuqdschis command.

The Arab Liberation Army was established in November 1947 in Qatana in Damascus. As of December 1947 leaked units in the Mandate of Palestine. The output of the Arab League contract for the units was the protection of Arab population centers during the end of the mandate period until the intervention of regular troops after the British withdrawal. The Arab League saw the formation as a counterpart to the Army of the Holy War, which was under the influence of Mohammed Amin al -Husseini.

The army was supposed to consist of eight battalions, of which only four nearly reached their full strength. The others remained despite their name on company strength. In the summer of 1948, the association reached its highest staff strength of around 4,000 soldiers. The majority of them came from Syria. Furthermore, also Palestinian Arabs, Iraqis and Egyptians in the army, as well as a number of non-Arab Muslims served.

It was the end of October 1948 shattered by the Israelis and driven out of Palestine.
