Aracy de Carvalho Guimarães Rosa

Aracy Moebius de Carvalho Guimarães Rosa ( born December 5, 1908 in Rio Negro, Paraná, † March 3, 2011 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian " Righteous Among the Nations ".

The daughter of a German mother and a Brazilian, was a multilingual staff member of the Itamaraty, the Foreign Ministry of Brazil. In second marriage, she married the writer João Guimarães Rosa. She is also known for the Israeli award as " Righteous Among the Nations ", which she received because she helped many Jews, the Vargas government to travel to Brazil while illegally. It is also among the honorees of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, USA.
