The Arad Airport, in Romanian Aeroportul iNTernational Arad and internationally Arad International Airport, is an international airport in the city of Arad (Romania ) in the same county, which also operates the airport.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the airport Arad was in 1936, the inauguration followed on 14 November 1937. Airport at that time had a simple grass runway, but this was in 1953 replaced by a 2000 meter long airstrip made of concrete, which today is the only active runway at the airport. The active passenger terminal is a few decades old and has a lounge.
Despite existing facilities of the airport is not currently served by scheduled service. In the past, already routes were flown, for example, to Verona and Stuttgart by Blue Air and Carpatair, but were set back by now.
The airport also has a cargo building, which is used regularly.
