Aragua

Aragua is a State of Venezuela, located in the north central part of the country.

The scenery on the Caribbean coast consists mainly of jungle. Named after Henri Pittier National Park - Venezuela's first national park - located in that State. The capital is Maracay.

Geography

To the north of the state bordering the Caribbean Sea, which is bordered by the Cordillera mountain range. The mountain Codazzi Peak reaches a height of over 2,400 m. The rest of the country consists mostly of fertile valleys, which are used for intensive agriculture. In the West, Aragua borders the Valenciasee and the state of Carabobo, in the south on Guárico, to the east by Miranda and Vargas.

The main rivers are the Aragua, the Guárico, the Limón, the Tuy, the Pao and the Turmero. They all open out into the Caribbean, the Valenciasee or in the Orinoco.
