Arakel Mirzoyan

Arakel Mirzoyan (Armenian Արակել Միրզոյան; born October 21, 1989 in Yerevan ) is an Armenian weightlifter. He became in 2009 Vice World Champion and European Champion in a battle at lightweight.

Career

Arakel Mirzoyan came as a child to weightlifting. His father is none other than Oksen Mirzoyan, the Olympic champion in the bantamweight title in 1988. This is also his coach in a power center in Yerevan. Since Arakel Mirzoyan a member of the Armenian national team in weightlifting, he is cared for in this also from the Armenian head coach Ashot Mchitarjan. He is a journalism student at the University of Yerevan.

His debut on the international weightlifting stage was Arakel Mirzoyan in 2005. He started here at the Junior European Championships in Sofia featherweight and finished at 242 kg ( 110-132 ) in a duel behind Sergei Petrosian, Russia, 263 kg, Alexandru Dodoglu, Moldova, 263 kg and Paul Stoichita, Romania, 258 kg, the 4th Place. In 2007 he won at the Junior European Championships in Landskrona featherweight 257 kg ( 115-142 ) behind Dimitrios Minasides, Cyprus, came to 263 kg and the EM- Silver Medal.

Also in 2008 he was successful. He won at the Junior European Championships in Durres / Albania in lightweight 310 kg ( 140-170 ) his first international title. At the Junior World Championships this year in Cali he came in lightweight 302 kg ( 137-165 ) and Oleg Chen had from Russia, narrowly beaten 307 kg ( 142-165 ). Finally he started in 2008 even at the Universities World Cup in Komotini / Greece and came there with an increase to 312 kg ( 142-171 ) behind the Chinese Xiao Minghua, of there at 332 kg ( 150-182 ) won superior to the 2nd place.

2009 won Arakel Mirzoyan also his first international championship in the seniors. He was in Bucharest with 336 kg ( 151-185 ) European champion before experienced French Vencelas Dabaya, 333 kg ( 147-186 ) and Vladislav Lukanin from Russia, which reached 330 kg ( 147-183 ). At the Junior World Championship 2009 in Bucharest he had just experienced then, can be a defeat as bitter, because he stayed there after three failed attempts in pushing 180 kg without duel power unplaced after he had set up in the snatch with 152 kg, a new personal best with which he had become world junior champion in the snatch.

From this defeat, he showed himself perfectly recovered in the Senior World Championships in 2009 in Goyang / South Korea. He made there at lightweight in the tackle 334 kg ( 154-180 ) and finished in behind Liao Hui of China, 346 kg ( 160-186 ) in second place.

At the European Championships 2010 in Minsk Arakel Mirzoyan was not at the start.
