Aram Asatryan

Aram Asatryan (Armenian: Արամ Ասատրյան; born March 3, 1953 in Etchmiadzin; † 7 November, 2006 Oshakan ) was an Armenian pop singer and songwriter.

Life

Aram Asatryan was born in Echmiadzin in a refugee family. In 1985, he formed a band and became famous for his voice and his musical style. Asatryan gave concerts around the world in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Russia, and in many cities in Armenia. He wrote more than 500 songs and was on numerous tours. During his life he received many awards such as the " Gusan " which was presented to him on 18 April 2003 by the Ministry of Culture in Armenia. Until his death he lived in the United States. Asatryan died on 7 November 2006 at Oshakan in the province Aragazotn of a heart attack when he appeared at a baptism as the inspiration for an Armenian family.
