Araragi (magazine)

Araragi (Japaneseアララギ, dt " yew tree ") was the title of a Japanese tanka magazine. This was the successor of the two magazines Ashibi and Akane, who had been edited by the community Masaoka Shiki's students, the so-called Negishi Tanka community, after Shiki's death.

Kesshin was founded in 1908 by the Araragi magazine Warabi Shin'ichiro called (蕨 真). But as early as the following year took over Itō Sachio a central figure in the editorial. Saitō Mokichi, Koizumi Chikashi and others participated. From 1914 Shimaki Akahiko took a central role. After his death the editor fell to Saitō Mokichi and Tsuchida Bummei. In 1997, the publication of the magazine was discontinued.
