Araranguá

Araranguá is a city in the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil.

The city is about 63,000 inhabitants and an area of 298.42 km ² district capital. It is located in the south of Santa Catarina and is characterized by mainly Italian immigrants. Vineyards and hot springs are located in and around Araranguá.

About 10 km from the outskirts of Rio Araranguá opens into the sea. Beginning of the 20th century coal was mined here.
