Aratus (Greek Ἄρατος ) is the name of several people of ancient Greece:

  • Aratus ( Spartans ), legendary leader of the Spartans, who is said to have returned in the first Messenian war the young soldier to Sparta where all women attend, and thus to secure the next generation
  • Aratus of Soli ( * ca 310 BC, † 245 BC ), Greek writer and author of the Phainomena, an astronomical didactic poem
  • Aratus of Sicyon (* 271 BC at Sicyon; † 213 BC), politician in Hellenistic Greece and leader of the Achaean League
  • Aratus ( strategist ), son of Aratus of Sicyon and federal strategist 219/8 BC
