Aravind Joshi

Aravind Krishna Joshi ( born 1929 in Pune, India) is a professor of computer science and cognitive science at the University of Pennsylvania. Joshi defined the Baumadjunktionsgrammatik (TAG), which is used for natural language processing.

Awards

On 21 April 2005 Joshi received the Benjamin Franklin Medal for his fundamental contributions to the understanding of language representation in the brain and the development of computer techniques for the efficient processing of natural languages ​​, which have led to advances in machine translation.
