Arazede is a comune ( freguesia ) in Portugal and belongs to the circle ( concelho ) Montemor -o -Velho.

History

Arazede is first mentioned in a document at the time of the county Coimbra, 1087th His first city rights ( Foral ) was in 1514 by King Manuel I.. Arazede 1781 circuit ( concelho ), (now the circle Cantanhede ) connected the 1840 Circle of Cadima been. This was seinerseit dissolved in 1853 and assigned to the circle Montemor -o -Velho.

In 2009, the municipality of Vila ( town ) has been charged.

Economy

Of particular importance is agriculture (corn, vegetables ), especially the livestock industry. These provide administrative, social facilities and some small to medium sized businesses (logistics, trade, metal processing, food industry) employment. In April 2012, Agriculture Minister Assunção Cristas announced here on the promotion of ranchers. The Parque Industrial de Logístico e Arazede also is a major commercial area in planning.

Traffic

Before the suspension, the Ramal da Figueira da Foz in 2009 the community was connected with the station Arazede and the breakpoint Bebedouro on the railway network.
