Arborway

The Arborway is a four-lane, divided parkway and a two lane residential street in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. The road is located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood and was designed in the 1890s by Frederick Law Olmsted as the most southern part of the Emerald Necklace park system and built. Originally the road was designed for coaches to join as part of the park system the Boston Common with the Franklin Park in Roxbury.

The Arborway begins at a large roundabout which connects it to the Jamaicaway, and leads to the main entrance over to the Arnold Arboretum, where parking is allowed on the road. Originally, the road continues through Forest Hills to Franklin Park, but ends today at the South Street at the Arboretum. From here the path leads either to Forest Hills or on the Casey Overpass toward Roxbury and Mattapan.
