Arcanobacterium haemolyticum

Arcanobacterium is a genus slender, irregularly shaped bacilli. You are 0.3-0.8 microns wide and 1-5 microns long. Their ends are partially clavate. They are immobile, acid unstable and facultative anaerobes. They grow slowly, are sometimes stored in V formation. Later perfect hemolysis and partially coccoid forms occur.

A. pyogenes plays an important role as pyogenic organisms in ruminants, but also other animal species. Use of teat dips can reduce the burden of the animal are significantly reduced.
