Archduchess Margarete Sophie of Austria

Margarete Sophie Marie Theresia Caroline Luise Annunciata Josephine Johanna ( born May 13, 1870 in Artstetten, Austria, † August 24 1902 in Gmunden am Traunsee ) was born Archduchess of Austria and by marriage Duchess of Württemberg.

Life

Margarete Sophie ( named after the first wife of her father, Margaret of Saxony and her grandmother Sophie, née Princess of Bavaria ) was the only daughter of Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria and his second wife Maria Annunziata of Naples and Sicily. She was the younger sister of Franz Ferdinand of Austria -Este, where she was personally very close.

On 24 January 1893 married the Archduchess - which Abbess of noble ladies pin in Prague on 23 May 1886 was previously until 15 January 1893 - Duke Albrecht of Württemberg in Vienna, the son of Duke Philipp of Württemberg and Archduchess Marie Therese of Austria. From the marriage seven children were born, one of which died in infancy.

Margarete Sophie, died at the age of 32 in Gmunden and was buried in the family vault of the castle Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. The husband Duke Albrecht was a no more marriage. After the construction of a tomb at the castle and parish church of St. Michael in Altshausen in 1927, the coffin was transferred there.
