Architekturzentrum Wien

The architecture Wien (Az W) is an architecture center in Vienna's Museum Quarter, which sees itself as an exhibition, event and research on the subject of architecture and planning. Activities

History

The institution was founded in 1993 as a non-profit organization. It was created on the basis of a joint initiative of the Republic of Austria and the City of Vienna. It is subsidized by the bm: bwk and the municipal departments MA 7 culture department and MA 18 business group - urban development, transport, climate protection, energy planning and citizen participation ( which also operates the Vienna Planning Workshop as a presentation center for urban and regional planning). In October 2001, the Az W got after eight years of temporary exhibition industry in the Museumsquartier its present location. There, around 1000 square meters of exhibition space are available. 2013 celebrates the Architecture Center Vienna its 20th anniversary.
