Archive (band)

Archive is a British music group from London. Initially, a trip-hop band, their music combines influences from trip-hop, post - and indie rock.

History

The band was founded in 1994 by Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths, who had previously played together in the House band Genaside II. After some time, they found however and " cramped ", and began to write their own songs. The first album ( with singer Roya Arab and Rosko John the rapper ) called Londinium released in 1996 in Iceland Records. It was heavily influenced by Massive Attack, but also contained rap and alternative rock elements. Despite the good reviews that earned the album the band split up in the same year, after disagreements between Roya Arab and Rosko John had arisen.

1999 published archives their second album Take My Head, significantly more poppy and melodic than their debut release. The album, however, was not a success.

A year later recollected Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths and gave the re-established band named " Archive". Singer was Craig Walker of Power of Dreams. There was You All Look The Same To Me, the band gave more popularity and received good reviews. Especially in France, formed a larger fan base. 2003 the band produced the soundtrack to the French film Michel Vaillant, a year later the album Noise came about. Is clearly visible towards the style change for progressive rock, although still trip-hop elements are present.

In November 2004, Craig Walker left the band a few days before the release of Unplugged.

In summer 2006, released their seventh album Lights archives with new singer Pollard Berrier, who co-wrote the songs since 2005.

Shortly thereafter, in 2007, was followed by the album Live at the Zenith, which was unannounced recorded in Paris during a concert.

In 2009 they released the album Controlling Crowds.

In April 2011, appeared live in Athens, the first live DVD of the band. The concert was recorded in September 2010 in Athens Badminton Theater.

In August 2012, their eighth studio album With Us Until You're Dead was released.

In addition, her song Bullets was a case for two uses for a series of German TV crime series, where he is played during a boxing match and a subsequent escape through the building.

The title You Make Me Feel from the album Take My Head has been used since October 2012 by the company L' Oréal in the TV commercial.

In January 2013, the Single Bullets adorned the teaser for the computer game Cyberpunk 2077th
