Arcis-sur-Aube
Arcis- sur -Aube is a municipality with 2988 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the north-eastern French department of Aube. It is located about 27 km north of Troyes in Champagne -Ardenne ( Troyes Arrondissement ) and lies on the banks of the River Aube. It has an area of 9.49 km ². The average altitude is 92 meters above sea level
Here is the Battle of Arcis- sur -Aube was fought from 20 to 21 March 1814.
Current mayor is Serge Lardin (UMP, 2001-2008 ).
