Arciso Artesiani

Arciso Artesiani ( born January 22, 1922 in Marzabotto, Emilia -Romagna, Italy, † 16 March 2005) was an Italian motorcycle racer.

Career

Arciso Artesiani launched 1949-1951 in the 500cc class of the MotoGP World Championship. He made his debut on Gilera with second place behind Leslie Graham at the Grand Prix of Switzerland 1949. Too, in the other three races of the season in which he took, the Italians went on the podium, giving him in the standings to third place behind Graham and his Landmann Nello Pagani earned.

1950 and 1951 Artesiani went for a total of three half- liter Grand Prix for MV Agusta at the start and was doing a two third places. He also won in 1951 MV Agusta 500 Quattro R19 500 - cm class of the prestigious road race Milano -Taranto.

With his brother Medardo Arciso Artesiani founded in 1949 a motorcycle trade, which still exists today. Artesiani died on 16 March 2005 of a heart attack.
