ARCO Group

The ARCO Groep (French Groupe ARCO ) is a Belgian co-operative holding company. The head office is in the Livingstonelaan 6 in Brussels / Belgium. She wants to make long-term investments with a focus on the economic, social, environmental and ethical aspects.

History

In 1935 Verbond van Christelijke Coöperaties ( LVCC ) ( Rural composite of Christian cooperatives ) was founded by the Christian Belgian Confederation of Trade Unions Algemeen Christelijk Werknemersverbond (ACW ) of the Landelijk.

The LVCC shareholders was some Catholic organizations, such as the Welvaart ( welfare ) of consumer cooperatives, the Belgian Arbeiders Coöperatie Centrale Depositokas (BAC Bank) a credit union and the Antwerpse Volksspaarkas. Later came more co-operative insurance, like De Volksverzekering and from 1945 Verbondelijke Cooperative vennootschappen added. The LVCC was embedded in the ACW union network. The LVCC has also acquired interests in publishing, printing and travel companies.

In the year 1990 there was a reform organization, in which the 28 affiliated cooperatives are reorganized and divided. The LVCC is to Groep ARCO.

The Groep ARCO has over 850,000 shareholders and shareholders' equity of 1.7 billion euros. It has a managed investment capital of 4.5 billion euros.

Structure

ARCOPAR holds an equity capital of about 1.7 billion Euro investments in other sectors ARCO ( arcoPlus, ARCOFIN and AUXIPAR ), at the Dexia bank and other companies ( Elijah SPGE, Belgacom, Telenet, Gimv ).

In 1983 Coplus is established, which is used to arcoPlus later. ACROPLUS has an equity of approximately 129.5 million euros. Individuals and social organizations can purchase shares in the cooperative to arcoPlus for 123.95 euros per share. ArcoPlus holds shares of 10.26 percent at the ARCOFIN and 9.9 percent at the AUXIPAR.

ARCOFIN invested in the financial sector. The ARCOFIN holds 13.92 percent of the shares of Dexia group. In addition, she holds a share in the VDK Spaarbank NV in the region of Ghent - Eeklo.

The AUXIPAR is founded in 1974. It has a capital of 78 million euros. It mainly invests in basic and utility services (EPC, Escapo, Lindeboom, PDB, SPGE, Gimv ) and Real Estate ( real estate).
