Arctic Circle Raceway

The Arctic Circle Raceway is a race track in Storforshei, about 20 km north of Mo i Rana, in the Norwegian county of Nordland. It was built in 1995 for 61 million NOK.

It is the most northern race track in Europe and with a length of 3.753 km, the longest asphalt racetrack in Norway. Another feature of the route is that it is close to the Arctic Circle. This would make it in the summer months to completely deny a 24 -hour race in daylight.

As of 1999, the Swedish Touring Car Championship ( STCC) was several times in Mo i Rana at the start. Recently however, this was the case in 2004. Both runs could then be won by Richard Göransson on a BMW. Since 2005, the Norwegian running the STCC but is held on the Vålerbanen at Flisa. Nowadays, driver training and club events on the track instead mostly, not even the domestic in Norway Racing Championships visit the Arctic Circle Raceway.
