ArcView

ArcView is a GIS software from ESRI, with which generate spatial information, edit ( Intersect, ...), analyze, and can be represented. There are 2 product lines:

  • ArcView GIS 3.x version to the current version 3.3 and
  • ArcGIS / ArcView license level as from ArcGIS Desktop version 8.x, with the current version 10.0.

In this product line ArcView is only one possible stage of the product family ArcGIS Desktop. Other ( increasingly extensive ) stages of development in the ArcGIS Desktop product family are ArcEditor and ArcInfo 8.x The functions and interface of ArcView in versions 9.x and can use the Microsoft COM technology, for example using the programming languages ​​Visual Basic, Python or Visual C be extended. Avenue scripts and extensions for ArcView GIS 3.x are not compatible with the versions 8.x/9.x/10.x.
