Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group, based in Dublin, is a European manufacturer of glass and metal packaging for the food and beverage industry. The German subsidiary is the Ardagh Glass GmbH with headquarters in Nienburg ( Lower Saxony).

The Ardagh Group has 22 sites for the production of glass packaging in seven countries ( Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden) with about 7,000 employees. Ardagh Glass produced in 2007 approximately 3.4 million tons of glass and achieved total sales of approximately EUR 1.25 billion.

The metal packaging has 62 sites for the production of metal packaging in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and North America. Metal packaging were integrated in 2010 through the acquisition of Impress BV.

Products and services

The Ardagh Group offers its clients a diverse range of container glass: the jam jar on beer and wine bottles to glass packaging for the pharmaceutical industry. Nienburg ( Lower Saxony)

The glassworks founded in 1891, employs approximately 600 people and manufactures at ten production lines daily around 3.3 million glass containers for the beverage and food industry. In Nienburg is also the European headquarters of Ardagh Glass. From here, the activities of all 17 locations will be forwarded to the European mainland.

Upper Churches ( Lower Saxony)

The company was founded by Johann Conrad Storm 1799 Glashütte and taken over in 1842 by Caspar Hermann Heye, as sole owner of " Glashütte looking stone." Today in the upper churches produce 420 employees up to 3.9 million glass containers a day. Focus is on beer, wine and champagne bottles.

In Upper Church is also the seat of two other Ardagh Glass Company: Heye International is the supplier for the international glass industry. Bad Munder (Lower Saxony)

Schleiden (North Rhine -Westphalia)
