Ardgroom

Ardgroom ( Irish: Dhrom DHA ) is a small village on the Beara Peninsula in the west of County Cork in Ireland. It lies on the Ardgroom Harbour said Bay, on the north side of the peninsula, near the border with County Kerry.

East of the village, in a region called the Ardgromm Outward and is on the road to Lauragh, there is a series of megalithic monuments, including Boulder tombs, forts, standing stones, stone rows and stone circles.

Canfea

The picturesque village is the closest, southwestern stone circle " Canfea ", which is also known under the name " Ardgroom SW Circle". Unusually are its consistently conical stones that are found in similar form in the circle of Upper Drombohilly. The circle of Canfea consisted of eleven stones, of which nine are in the circle. Another stone stands outside the circle, through which also runs a low wall.

Dromard

The nearby ring fort of Dromard is one example of a fort, which contains a basement. The spilled entrance is at the center of the other is in the west. The walk is about six feet long and three feet high and wide. For construction ( earth cut) no stones were used. At the end of the hall is a chamber of irregular shape. It is about three meters long, one meter high and 1.2 m wide. There are two narrow passages, one to the right and the other to the left, emanating from her. The vaulted passages are so small that you can only crawl. The second chamber is located on the left side. It is about two meters long, 1.2 meters wide and one meter high. On its right side there are three entrances to various chambers. The only walking to the left, leads to a 5.4 m long, two meters wide and 1.2 m high chamber. She has a vault, like the others, but it is not so perfect. The narrow passage from this chamber opens into a further four meters long, 1.65 meters wide and 1.2 meters high chamber, which is turned over.
