The Ardila (Spanish Río Ardila ) is a left tributary of the Guadiana River, which flows through both Spain and by Portugal. It rises south of Monesterio in the province of Badajoz in Extremadura. Its course leads first to the north. In Valencia del Ventoso it changes its path towards the southwest, which it maintains to the mouth.

He crossed on Spanish territory, the southern parts of the municipalities of Jerez de los Caballeros and Oliva de la Frontera. Then it forms more than 25 km across the border with Portugal. Finally it flows south of the Alqueva dam near the Portuguese town of Moura in the Guadiana. Its most important tributary is the Benferre. Its catchment area covers a total area of ​​1821.61 km ², of which 1043 km ² in Spain.
