Areca Backup

Areca Backup is a free software written in Java for data backup and published v2.0 license under the GPL.

Types of Backups

• Full backup: If a full backup, all selected files will be stored in an archive file, regardless of whether they have changed since the last backup or not.
• Incremental backup: In case of incremental backup only the files are copied to the archive file that were changed since the last backup.
• Differential backup: In a differentially backup only the files are copied to the archive file that were changed since the last full backup.

Areca uses the values ​​for the file size and last modification time to determine whether a file has been changed. On request, incremental and differential backups to save space created delta- coded.
