Arese

Arese is a city in the province of Milan, Lombardy region with 19,056 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).

History

The Arese became known fact that it is since 1961 manufacturing plant the car manufacturer Alfa Romeo. After Alfa Romeo was taken over in 1986 by the Fiat group, the factory in Arese was almost completely degraded and closed. Today there are still about 500 workers employed, as well as the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, Alfa Romeo factory museum museo storico is in Arese, which was renovated in August 2008 to December 2009. Currently, an attempt is made by the authorities, new businesses to locate on the huge unused premises.

Demography

Arese counts 7,482 households. Between 1991 and 2001 the population increased from 18 612 to 18 771 on. This represents a percentage increase of 0.9%.
