Aresti Catalog

A Aresti symbol is a standardized, schematic drawing of a single maneuver in aerobatics such as a loop or a turn that simplifies depicts the movements of the aircraft.

  • Full lines indicate upright flown maneuvers or positive G- forces.
  • Dashed lines indicate on the back flown maneuvers or negative G- forces.
  • Triangles indicate wily maneuvers (such as spin, snap rolls, etc.).
  • Arrows indicate taxiing at (possibly with numbers, which stand for the expansion / segments of a role )

Use

Aresti symbols are used both in the technical literature as well as aerobatic pilots. They can be combined and ranked to complete flight programs together and serve the classification and measurement. Aerobatic pilots use them on mounted in the cockpit labels in order to call during the show the flight program in memory.

Each maneuver is provided with a "K " factor, which represents the degree of difficulty of an exercise. In a competition the jury will evaluate each maneuver with a value of up to 10 ( as well as other sporting competitions ). This value is multiplied at the end with the " K " factor to calculate the number of points achieved.

History

They were from the International Aerobatics Commission of the Fédération Aéronautique ( FAI), the Commission Internationale de Voltige Aerienne ( CIVA ), at the suggestion of the then Spanish delegates introduced in 1961 Count José Luis de Aresti Aguirre as a catalog of difficulty factors of the figures. The Aresti catalog is revised periodically.

Copyright

For a time, you could download the complete Aresti catalog as a PDF file free of charge from the website of the FAI. After the Aresti family had taken legal action against the FAI had to remove the catalog from their side. Since then he's back in print only and obtained for a fee.

To date, there is disagreement about which parts of the Aresti catalog - are now protected by copyright (copyright in the Aresti family ) and which are not. The problem is that were already in use before Aresti lines, arrows and triangles to bring aerobatic figures on paper.
