Argancy
Argancy ( German Argannen 1915-18, 1940-44 Argentinas singing ) is a commune with 1299 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Metz- Campagne, for Canton Vigy and community association Maizières- Lès- Metz.
Geography
The community Argancy located ten kilometers north of Metz, on the Moselle River at an altitude 158-210 m above sea level. By 11.45 km ² comprehensive municipality performs the motorway Paris -Strasbourg, on the Moselle crossed here.
History
The place was first mentioned in 857 as Argentina Inga and 1210 as Archanciacum and came to France in 1552. From 1871 to 1918 he was once again the German Reich.
