Argenta, Emilia–Romagna

Argenta is a town with 22,087 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Ferrara in northeast Italy. Argenta is located in the Emilia-Romagna region about 30 km southeast of Ferrara, halfway between Ferrara and Ravenna.

The city is located in a predominantly flat, agricultural region on the edge of a wetland, the lagoon of Comacchio. Much of this lagoon is a wildlife sanctuary today.

History

Argenta was founded by the Romans.
