Argentaffin

Argentaffin is the ability of molecules in tissues to reduce ammoniacal silver nitrate without reducing agent in the course of a silver staining ( black color ) and silver (Latin Argentum ) to form a bond. In contrast, argyrophilic molecules bind likewise reinforced silver ions, but needs to be reduced separately for visualization.
