ArgeÈ™ County
Arges [ ardʒeʃ ] is a Romanian county ( Judet ) in the Walachia region, with the county town of Piteşti. Its common abbreviation and the license plate number are AG.
The county Arges bordered to the north by the districts of Brasov and Sibiu, on the east by the county Dâmboviţa, to the south by the county Teleorman, on the west by the circles Olt and Valcea.
Demography
At the census in 2002, the county 652 625 inhabitants and a population density of 95 inhabitants per km ². Of these, 642 256 Romanians, Roma 9227, 322 Hungary, 118 German, 87 Greeks, 71 Turks.
2011 had the county Arges 612 431 inhabitants, thus a population density of 89 inhabitants per km ².
Geography
The county has a total area of 6862 km ², equivalent to 2.88 % of the area of Romania.

The circle consists of Arges officially 586 villages, of which seven have city status, 95 to a community and the rest are assigned to administrative cities and towns.
