Argonaut Games

Argonaut Games PLC is a British games developer. Founded in 1982 by the teenager Jez San as Argonaut Software, the name of the company referred to the film Jason and the Argonauts.

History

The company produced its first game Skyline Attack for the Commodore 64 Later, the Starglider games for Amiga, Armstrad / CPC Amstrad CPC and Atari ST followed.

In 1993 she developed the Super FX chip for Nintendo's SNES game console and the accompanying game Vortex.

1998, informed the department that designed the chip, as Argonaut RISC Core of Argonaut from to create configurable RISC - based chips.

Argonaut Software was divided in 1999 Argonaut Technologies and Argonaut Games.

In October 2004, Argonaut Games dismissed 100 employees and was offered for sale.
