Argos (dog)

Argos (Greek Ἄργος ) is an ancient Greek epic poem the Odyssey of Homer, the hound of Odysseus, who for 20 years waiting in the palace of Ithaca to his master. When Odysseus ' return Argos recognizes him as the only one. But he is too weak to rise from the dunghill on which he, gnawed by vermin, is, only wags his tail and lowers the ears and it dies.

He wore - probably because of his special vigilance - the same name as the hundred- giant of Greek mythology.
