Argus As 411

The Argus As 411 was an aircraft engine, the German manufacturer Argus Motoren Gesellschaft, which was developed from the Argus As 410.

The performance improvement of 25% was attained by a boost pressure and speed increase. This could improve performance to 600 hp. To derive the increased heat received the cylindrical baffles and channels, which accelerated the cooling air through the exhaust nozzles formed as Strahlejektoren. This allowed the cooling capacity can be increased with the same air resistance. For the boost pressure, the loader translation has been changed. In addition, the As-410/411-Motoren had a single lever, which together with the ignition timing and the propeller governor kept the engine still in the best condition usually with the aid of an automatic boost pressure and throttle lever.

After the Second World War, the engine was further built only of Renault and later by SNECMA in a quantity of about 3000 copies until well into the 1960s.
