Ari Ne'eman

Ari Ne'eman is an activist for the rights of people with disabilities.

Ne'eman, who himself has Asperger's syndrome, is the founding president of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, with which it established the self- representation of people with autism in political discourse and the mainly English-speaking public in a broader way. Ne'eman is still a leading proponent of the neurodiversity movement. In 2008 he received the " Advocates in Disability " Award of the HSC Foundation. He is currently studying politics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

In addition to participating in various relevant organizations has been proposed on December 16, 2009 by U.S. President Barack Obama as a member of the National Council on Disability. The nomination is subject to approval of the Senate. According to a report in the New York Times by end of March 2010 was raised objections in the Senate against the nomination of Ari Ne'eman as a member of the National Council on Disability, which his nomination has been suspended until further notice. Ari Ne'emans nomination sparked in Autism circles a controversy over the approach of autism. Various autism organizations reject Ari Ne'emans from view and do not recognize him as the representative of people with autism.
